Congratulations to the boys for a well-deserved win against a very strong St George side.
It was always going to be a tough match for our boys as our depleted team is ravaged by injuries and wet weather has hampered training sessions. It was a very boggy pitch the boys played on making running and passing a little tough for both sides but some brilliant passing up front put our team in the lead early in the match. Seconds before half time St George were awarded a controversial penalty to even the score.
In the second half our boys settled in to play some good football with strong defence and brilliant attacking. The ball mainly being at our end of the pitch the boys were very unlucky not to score a few times. Against the run of play St George slipped through the defence to score again and put them in the lead. To their credit our boys never gave up and two more goals, one just moments before full time saw Sutherland win their fourth game from five this Season.
A very big thank you to the boys from U13s who helped us out – the win would not have been possible without your assistance. Currently sitting in second place on the ladder we are hoping to consolidate the team’s strong form with some good training sessions.
