SSFA WPL 15’s 4 v SSFA RYC 13’s

With the temperature topping the mid 30’s and facing the boys, we knew it was not going to be an easy match for us. The first half was a highly competitive affair with both teams creating early chances and converting them into goals. The second half continued in a similar fashion, with chances for each team. Our goals were well constructed and Jaydan’s goal from outside the box was beautifully struck. We did not have lady luck on our side and Leanna was very unlucky not to have a hat trick. Amelia had a few good runs down the line and did not waste any opportunity that she was given to attack.
Again Bailey, Zoe, Tahlee, Lauren and Emily were solid in defence and they made the boys work hard for any attacking opportunities in the game. Lana, Jasmine, Ashley, Bianca and Charlotte all worked relentlessly supporting both the defence and the attack thru out the game. It was Shaylee’s first match back from injury and she showed her finesse with the ball when given an opportunity. We were a bit unlucky overall – own goal, missed penalty and a few other unlucky moments.
Special mention to our goalie for the match that we borrowed from the U13’s – Akala Howell -you were brilliant and thank you for your gutsy performance and the saves you made. Awesome! … and bubble soccer!
